February Currently

I am linking up with Farley at Oh' Boy Fourth Grade for the first time for February Currently!

Here is my February Currently...

Listening - times of peace and quiet are few and far between in this house with 2 boys
(ages 10 & 7), a husband, and now a dog.  I'm not talking about a cute little lap dog, I'm talking a 60 + pound doberman pinscher! Meet Bones, the newest addition to our family...

He may be big but he is the sweetest thing in the world!  He gives great hugs!

Loving - I had gotten out of my yoga routine in November and finally got back into it 2 weeks ago and my body (and mind) is thanking me!

Thinking - As some of you know, I own my own small private school along with my best friend and we teach K-6 to an average of 10-15 students.  The building we rent had a pipe bust when we got to school this morning.  Needless to say I am a little stressed with the soaked carpets and damaged material so it has been on my mind all night.

Wanting - I want peace for my husband's side of the family as they deal with the decision to take a loved one off of life support. Prayers for our family are greatly appreciated.

Needing -  I need a warm cup of coffee right about now.  I usually have one after dinner but that hasn't happened yet and I'm too lazy at the moment to walk to the kitchen and make one :) This is my favorite mug at the moment...

Now for 2 truths and a fib!
1.  just bought a guitar -- Truth!!  I have always wanted to learn to play and just recently decided I'm not putting it off any longer so I bought myself a guitar for Christmas!!

2.  I speak Spanish -- Fib!!  Although I get questioned about my ethnicity often (because of my dark skin and hair) and I taught ESL for 8 years (and majority were Spanish speaking), I can only speak one language and that is English.  Now since I am a cajun (hence the dark skin) I do have a "flat" accent, but it is still considered English :)

3.  I love being a soccer mom -- Truth!!  Both of my boys are die hard soccer players and both started playing around age 3.  I absolutely love watching them play something they put so much heart into.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Head over to Farley's blog to link up and read more February Currently! (click her blog button at top of page)

  1. Hi Mo, found your blog through the Currently link. I am new to Currently, too and just posted my first one on my blog. I am in awe that you own you own school. Hoping everything works out with the pipe. Sending prayers for your husband and his family.

  2. I've already been told by my fiancé that I'm going to be a soccer momma - I already am because I go to all his games and I cheer from the sidelines and say I'm proud of the team members as they come off the field BUT to my own kiddos, I'll be a soccer momma, too! Glad to find another one out there that enjoys it as much as me :)

  3. Isn't Currently fun! I'm so sorry to hear about the pipe at your school. I hope that everything works out okay. I will keep your husband's family in my thoughts. Hopefully you got that cup of coffee in that great mug!
