Christmas Linkys and FREEBIES

Who is ready for a TpT sale?  I am, I am! My wishlist is about to bust with all of the goodies I am planning on scooping up Monday and Tuesday!

Graphics by Krista Wallden

Today I'm linking up with 2 fellow bloggers to showcase some of my items (Christmas and non-holiday) you may want to scoop up during the big sale.

The first product I want to show you is a wayyyy overdue newly updated product.  I have been cringing lately when people purchased this product because of the blurry graphics and boring format.  You can tell it was one of my first products!  I used to be only 6 pages and here is what it used to look like:

Now I am proud to say that the updated Learning Letter Combinations resource is now 70 pages and is a much better product (in my opinion)!  Check it out:

Looks a little better, don't you think?  Click on the first picture to download the revised copy if you already own this item or to read more about it if you are interested in purchasing it.

Now for a few Holiday themed resources:

Click on each image above to learn more about each product.  I also want to let you know about an updated Christmas Freebie that is now available in my store:

Click on the picture to download your copy today!

And don't forget about Elf Sentences!  This is also a Christmas Freebie!

Thanksgiving in my Classroom

Hello Friends!

First of all, CONGRATS to the 9 ladies who pinned and commented on my previous post giveaway!  I surprised each one of them with BOTH of my new Common Core Activity Card Sets for 1st Grade!  If you missed it, you can read all about my new products here.

Thanksgiving in my classroom was super fun and educational.  I was surprised at the information they learned about the history of the Pilgrims, Native Americans, and Thanksgiving.  We started off reading about the pilgrims using these wonderful resources Little Red's Schoolhouse:

The nonfiction text and activities from the history makers set were perfect for my students!  I couldn't believe how engaged they were and how much information they retained!  After the story of The Pilgrims, we created the flip book craftivity from the second set.  You can see one student's book in the picture below.

The second activity we completed were the adorable turkeys pictured above.  This craftivity was a freebie from Jessica at Wild About Firsties!

To finish up our Thanksgiving activities, we discussed the things that we are thankful for in our lives!  Using a few picture books to help, we brainstormed a list of things to be thankful for then created these adorable plates "full of thanks" using this great product from the talented Kelly at the Teacher Idea Factory!

This little guy was thankful for money :)

I hope your class had a wonderful time learning all about Thanksgiving!  I know mine did.  Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

New Common Core Products Plus FREEBIES

Hello Friends

It is my official first day of Thanksgiving break!  We have a week off to make new TpT products and blog hop spend time with family and I am so excited.  The husband and I decided a few nights ago that we want to surprise our 2 boys with a trip to Disney World for Christmas (we are famous for taking last minute trips) so I will also be trying to plan a last minute vacation during my time off this week.  Anywho....

I am excited to announce my newest additions to my TpT store.  I finally posted the first of my Common Core Activity Cards for 1st grade in ELA and Math.  I am a huge fan of task cards, but I found that students were getting bored with them quickly.  I was looking for something that could be repeated over and over that students would not get tired of when the plan for this line of products was born.  My plan is to have a set for each subject available for grades 1-6 before the new year.  It is a nearly impossible goal at this time of the year, but I figured a little more stress wouldn't hurt me....or will it?

The ELA set includes 45 activity cards covering ALL CCSS except for listening and speaking.  The download includes full color cards plus a black and white set for more printing options.

The math set includes 36 cards covering all standards.  All activities can be completed using simple items found in every classroom or home such as paper, pencils, dice, coins, etc...

Be sure to click on any picture above to visit my TpT store to learn more about these products and download the preview to see more detail.  I would love to hear your feedback on this new line of products!  Any comments you leave below will be helpful in making the rest of the grade levels stated earlier.

Although I am on Thanksgiving break, I realize that some of you are still teaching.  If you haven't seen my newest freebie, check it out below.  It may help you in these last few days before Thanksgiving.

If you are done teaching until after Thanksgiving like me, then you may want this Christmas FREEBIE instead:

If you download a freebie, don't forget to leave feedback.  I appreciate reading everything shared on my products.  It helps me to continue to provide products that are relevant to your needs.

*****Pin it to Win it*****
Would you like a chance to win one of my Common Core Activity Card Sets?  Pin one of the Activity Card images from above, post the link to the pin in a comment below with your email address and which set you would like for your classroom (Math or ELA) for your chance to win!  I will choose 2 winners Monday evening!  Good Luck!  Feel free to share this post with your friends!

Have a wonderful day!

A Peek into my Classroom and Thank You Deals

Hello Friends!

Here is a peek at what went on in my classroom the week of Halloween!  I know I'm a little late but hopefully you can get a few ideas for next year :)

I was lucky enough to win a wonderful product just before Halloween titled Halloween: Room on a Broom Interactive Journal, Task Cards, and More by the wonderful Michelle at Teach123.

My students really enjoyed the activities.  The interactive journal was a great tool for them to grasp the concepts I taught.  Check out my littles at work:

Another product I used was the Halloween Lesson and Activity Set by the amazing Kristin and Katie at LittleRed's Schoolhouse.

My students had a fun creating jack'o'lanterns and designing their own Halloween costumes.  Here are some of their finished products:

They really enjoyed these Lil' Frank Glyphs!

In math we talked about "halves" and these pumpkin craftivities From the Pond were a perfect addition!
I have the entire paper craft collection from Mel and I absolutely LOVE it!  We have used these little craftivities often!

Here are a few different ones we have created:
