Kinders and "Funny-Looking" Fonts

Do your littles struggle when they see a letter of the alphabet in environmental print that doesn't match the manuscript print they are used to working with?  I have had this happen recently.  In order to help them determine what letter of the alphabet they are looking at,  I created a poster for our classroom.  This poster has all letters of the alphabet and anytime we come across a "funny looking" letter, we cut it out or copy it and add it to our poster under the manuscript letter. (will post pic soon).

Another solution I came up with was an alphabet center where students match an upper case letter to it's lowercase partner.  I used various fonts for this activity and it seems to be helping my students.  The activity center I created is available in my TpT store.  Click on the link below to head on over to my store and check it out.

  1. I love that idea! Being a font freak causes problems for my kiddos at times. =)

    Your packet looks great! =)
